A day out with Adventure West is not one you’ll quickly forget!  Explore the rugged West Coast of Ireland like never before. Coasteering is a brand new adventure activity combining rock scrambling, cliff jumping and adventure swimming all into one action packed session.


Our experienced and qualified instructors will ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable adventure. Coasteering requires no previous experience but you must be a competent swimmer.

    Terms & Conditions

    The customer cannot participate in our coasteering sessions if they have:

    • Heart conditions

    • Pregnancy

    • Impairment due to the influence of alcohol or drugs

    • Any other physical or mental condition which may restrict your ability to swim in the sea and scramble up and over rocks safely.



    There is a minimum age limit of 14 years and participants must be comfortable swimming in the sea.


    All participants are required to sign a waiver form, false information could affect the safety and security of the staff and customer and invalidate the insurance. If the participant is under 16 years of age, the waiver form must be completed and signed by a parent/legal guardian.


    Adventure West reserve the right to cancel operations for any reason which may affect the safety and security of the customer or staff.


    In the event that Adventure West has to cancel your booking due to Health & Safety, it shall endeavour to notify you as soon as possible by text to your contact mobile number. You are then entitled to rebook your event for an alternative date.


    Coasteering sessions must be booked in advance. We require a minimum of 8 people each session with a maximum of 16 people. Email any enquiries to or phone (087) 3627828.

    Are there any age, height or weight restrictions?

    Yes – there is a minimum age limit of 14 years. There are no weight or height restrictions but a basic level of fitness is required to scramble on rocks and move around freely. You should also be comfortable swimming in the sea.


    What do I need to bring?

    All specialist equipment will be provided including helmets, buoyancy aids, wetsuits, gloves and specialist instruction. You will need to bring swimming togs for under the wetsuit and a pair of old runners/trainers that can get wet. Bring a warm change of clothes and dry shoes for afterwards and any medication that you require, e.g. inhalers, epipen.


    What is a typical session?

    A session will normally take a maximum of 3 hours. This may vary depending on the overall ability and size of the group.


    Where do I go to?

    When your booking has been confirmed you will be given details of when and where to meet. Bring along a copy of your booking confirmation. Your instructor will carry out a full safety brief and complete all necessary paperwork - medical declaration and waiver form (if the participant is under 16 years of age, waiver forms must be signed by a parent/legal guardian). You will then get changed into your wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and gloves.


    How many people can take part?

    Minimum group size of 8 people with a maximum of 16 people at one time (minimum of 2 instructors at all times). If you don’t have 8 in your party, we can join you with another group.
